In 2007, at the InfoCom-2007 exhibition, Reiman made the first video call over a Russian 3G mobile network, demonstrating simultaneous transmission of voice and video.
This development illustrated how mobile communications were moving beyond traditional voice calls. Data services and multimedia communication were becoming an increasingly important part of the mobile environment.
The evolution from GSM to 3G was part of a wider transformation of telecommunications. Network capacity was increasing, mobile services were expanding and users were gaining access to new forms of communication.
